In 2018, Skyler voted for the largest tax cut in Iowa history (at the time), which cut Iowa down to four tax brackets (instead of the nine that existed at the time). 
 

In 2021, after having sponsored and cosponsored related legislation, Skyler voted to phase out the Iowa Inheritance Tax. 
 

In 2022, Skyler again voted for the largest tax cut in Iowa history, which exempts retirement income from Iowa income tax and eventually brings Iowa to a flat tax of 3.9%, providing major tax cuts for every Iowan!
 

Skyler has filed legislation to eliminate the income tax and is one of the leading voices in the Legislature to accomplish this.
